My Sponsored Weight Loss

[Updated 4 April 2012] It's been a long time coming, but the time has come when I have to take the plunge and lose weight. I jumped on the weighing scales the weekend and I was not happy with what they showed me, so I have developed a plan to lose weight in a sensible way.

At first I was going to try and take the fastest route to weight-loss, however, after much thought I now think a serious and more long-term plan is needed.

I am doing the weight-loss program for myself, as well as hopefully  raising money for the Chemothearapy Unit in my local hospital. I intend to lose one and a half stone in the first 45 days, and then a further half stone sometime after.

So, my starting point is an embarrasing 17stone 12pounds.

My target weight loss in the first 2 weeks is 3 to 4 pounds per week. I will update the below chart with my weight-loss target and weight-loss target. I will try and achieve this loss by cutting out all chocolate, all fizzy drinks, all fast-food and any eat-out food. I will drink more water, and do moderate exercise on a daily basis.

Start Weight= 17stone 12pounds.
Target Weight Week 1= 17' 9
Actual Weight Week 1= 17" 7 - Very pleased with this result. 5pounds is more than I hoped for!
Target Weight 2= 17" 4
Actual Weight Week 2= 17" 5 - Not as much as I wanted, but the weight of a bag of sugar!
Target Weight Week 3= 17" 2
Actual Weight Week 3= 17"5 - No weight loss, just one of those weeks I guess!
Target Weight Week 4 = 17" 2
Actual Weight Week 4= 17" 2 - On target, and feeling good!
Target Weight Week 5= 17" 0

Weigh-in's will take place on Sunday evenings and this blog will be updated at the same time.
